The Russian Soyuz TMA-11 successfully launched this morning from the Baikonur Cosmodrome Wednesday at 9:22 a.m. EDT and entered orbit less than 10 minutes later. Aboard the flight are International Space Station Expedition 16 Commander Peggy Whitson, Flight Engineer Yuri Malenchenko and spaceflight participant cosmonaut Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor (the first M'sian into space). The Malaysian is properly identified as astronaut by the Russian Authorities, not space participant. Why do you say he is a space participant?
That's because even the official word from NASA says that he is a participant.
