International Space Station Expedition 16 NASA astronaut Dan Tani completd a bad news form prior to his flight denoting that if anything major event happened to a family member or close loved one he wanted to be notfied while on-orbit. And, NASA made it so .... he was informed about the death of his mother - Rose Tani. Perhaps the tragic loss of Ms. Tani will provide insights on human reaction to loss of life while in a long duration spaceflight. But for now, readers may only offer a moment of good thoughts for the well-being of Dan Tani, Rose's Space Hero.
