Top dog: Laika honored for being 1st

Laika, the female dog, was the first earthling in space says USA Today reporting the Russian street pooch is immortalized in bronze, 50 years after her historic, sacrificial flight as a part of the Russian Cosmonautics Day April 12 celebrations. The three-year-old mongrel was selected from an animal shelter to become the first living passenger to fly on any spacecraft - Sputnik 2.

The dog was killed by commie scientist looking for a better way to deliver nukes at the USA...there was no ejection system...the dog suffocted...sick
