Ares 1X test flight could be delayed

The Ares 1X test flight slated for launch in mid-July 2009 could be delayed to October due to the need for a rescue launch pad needed for the Hubble Space Telescope mission set for May 12. Kennedy Space Center Launch Pad 39-B must be modified to launch the the 327-foot Ares 1. A NASA decision will be made soon to determine if Pad 39-A could be used to launch the primary shuttle mission and a rescue mission from the same pad.
