The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) aspires to make India the fourth nation on the planet with capability of launching astronauts into Earth orbit. Initial plans calling for a two-member space launch crew in 2015 with engineering and training assistance being provided by the Russians, according to SpaceNews. India and Russia are cooperating on lunar programs as well.
