Eastern United States May See Shuttle Boost

The launch clock indicates hours, not days ... as Space.com has provided this visability map to witness the STS-119 launch of the space shuttle Discovery Wednesday evening 9:20 PM EDT from the Kennedy Space Center. The predicted clear weather may provide millions of people along the Atlantic coastal states hundreds of miles inland to see Discovery prior to main engine cut-off. Sky-watchers as far north as the southern tip of Nova Scotia and as far west as the Appalachian Mountains may see the shuttle main engine flicker. LIVE VIDEO COVERAGE.

This Blogger witnessed the last night launch in Florida last November. The linked YouTube video captured a special momentary flash of a shuttle cloud ripple at 3-minutes into the vid.
