The maiden flight of Orbital Sciences Corp.’s Antares commercial cargo rocket is targeted for mid-April 2013, a company spokesman said and their Twitter and corporate accounts.
Antares’ official launch date is “[n]o earlier than April 16, with a targeted date range of April 16-18,” Orbital spokesman Barron Beneski indicated March 15, 2013. More from SpaceRef as to launch media credentials.
The vehicle, along with the SpaceX Falcon 9-Dragon, will carry cargo to the International Space Station under commercial contracts through 2016.
